I met Luke several years ago when he first started making his own custom 1911’s. After talking with him and looking over his product, I felt comfortable I was purchasing the best product and service available today!

After owning many 1911’s from inexpensive to semi custom guns I was in the market for something special. I’m glad I did my homework and ordered from Luke.

I found Luke on Instagram and was amazed with the 1911 photos he was posting. Happy to say that I picked up my first Volkmann and the photos don’t do it justice!

I ordered a Volkmann bobtailed commander with my initials custom designed by Luke and then engraved on the rear of the slide to make it a truly bespoke pistol.  On the first day I received the pistol and shot it, the accuracy was outstanding and the functionality with multiple different types of ammo was flawless. The only issue I have is now I want one of all of his 1911 models!

I’ve held, shot and photographed many a Volkmann and I think Luke builds a phenomenal gun.  Over the years I’ve detected a pattern in his builds:  elegant, simple, beautifully finished, they run well and they’re hard to part with!

Rarity is the most valuable thing to any collector.  In the 1911 world the big names are making big production numbers. Luke is a true craftsman and releases a very limited number of guns.  This alone makes them high collectible. 

If you know right from wrong then you buy a Volkmann when your shopping for a Custom 1911.

As a real estate professional I have always been encouraged to carry for safety.  I now carry a Combat Carry in 9mm with Mammoth grips. It’s a beautiful gun but more importantly is very easy to use, accurate and I feel 110% confident shooting it.

I have been extremely happy with my Volkmann, the craftsmanship, customer service and professionalism. I without hesitation recommend a Volkmann for anyone else looking for a smooth, eye catching 1911!

Luke Volkmann is what you get when artistry meets execution head on. I have now owned four 1911s made by Luke, all of which were made 3-4 years apart, and each one just gets better and better.

Custom 1911s are my passion. I own a 1911 from almost every important pistol-smith alive and dead…if there’s a better 1911 in my safe than this latest Volkmann build, I haven’t found it.
